The Unrealized Snub...
When the phone company tells you you've dialed a number incorrectly, do you ever stop to think about it? Likely not, as they've trained you well over the years. Let's look at one of the most obvious bits of idiocy they foist on us.
Ever get the message "It is not necessary to dial 1 for this number, please hang up and dial again"? Stop and think; it's not necessary? So, why do you have to hang up? They recognized it wasn't necessary, but they make you jump through their hoop and redial the number! Fuck it, just ignore the unnecessary 1 and put the damn call through you pompous robot! Who are you protecting from "unnecessary" work here?
