Was it really a surprise...

That Captain America: The First Avenger whipped little Harry Potter's ass at the box office? After Harry Potter 7: A Slow Tour of Icelandic Camping Grounds left us wondering why they broke it up into two movie$, it was cool to see the last of the summer super hero movies unapologetically capture such an iconic character on film.

Can't wait for the numbers from Europe.  Of course, the film will just be called The First Avenger as most Europeans apparently will not patronize a film with America in the name.

Until the next time we have to bail their sorry asses out like we did back in WWII.  Irony, just that easy.
