The Justice Department Needs a New Name...

Data retention is on the hot seat again.  The government wants your ISP to have your browsing history kept around for years after the fact. We could go on about how faulty this is, how easily the records could point to the wrong person, especially years after the fact.  Yeah, we could do that.

But instead, we think there needs to be legislation to remove the word Justice from their name.  Instead, perhaps something more in keeping with the role they're playing.

Something like Privacy Rapists, or maybe just assholes.  "The DOJ will reportedly strive to maintain a good balance between privacy concerns and investigative concerns" is the supposed line.  Frankly, the only way you have a good balance between privacy and investigative concerns is to do the investigation of a suspect, not suspect the nation.
