25 years ago today...

The Reagan Doctrine was announced.  This did two things for America. 

First: It was the foundation for the Reagan administration's support for "freedom fighters around the globe, as Reagan announced Freedom is not the sole prerogative of a chosen few; it is the universal right of all God's children. This launched a series of shady support actions for Contras, Afghan Rebels, and other anticommunist forces around the world.

Second: It totally screwed Sarah Palin up when she couldn't recall (and we're really soft balling with the word recall) what the Bush Doctrine, a step up the ladder from Reagan's neocon platform.

So today, when Sarah Palin is considering a run in 2012 with the acknowledgement that she "has some studying to do" we just sit back and anticipate the joy of watching her try once again...
