And now, a volcano...

Alaska is a lovely place, a real change of pace vacation. However, if you're looking for a nice get-away right now you might want to reconsider any plans that include the Anchorage area. The appropriately named Redoubt Volcano is expected to erupt any time now.

If you do decide to go, make sure to pack the following:

• Dust masks

• Extra car air filters

• Goggles

• Camera

The camera is optional, but pictures of the 30,000 to 50,000 foot flume that is the likely result of such eruptions should be awesome.  And the sunsets will be spectacular. 

Breathing on the other hand will be a bit more of a challenge than usual.
