Whatever you do, panic...

Did you hear the one about the Pittsburg director of cancer research who says that even though there isn't definitive published data, people should avoid using cell phones "except in emergency."

Don't put it up against your head kind of stuff, although the warning also includes crowds, like on a bus, as the magnetic field in phones could affect others too.

Apparently the sponsor comes from the director of environmental oncology for the university, Devra Lee Davis.  She's quoted as saying

"The question is do you want to play Russian roulette with your brain, I don't know that cellphones are dangerous. But I don't know that they are safe."

Using that same criteria, similar questionable safety issues were suggested about Miley Cyrus, sweet tea, and the entire Fox News staff.

When noted that the Earth produces magnetic fields, other researchers who preferred to be unnamed, suggested people should keep their heads away from Earth as well...

On the subject of playing Russian Roulette with your brain: Based on our extensive observational surveys of commuter traffic, its a lucky thing that so many cell phone user's brains are obviously entirely unloaded, or at least firing blanks.
