Well, they may be on the way.

Nanotech carbon cylinders created recently from sheets one atom thick were created by Researchers at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. The ideal black material absorbs light perfectly at all angles and over all wavelengths.

While current plans are to use the new invention in things like more efficient solar panels, we're holding out for new advances in black T-shirts.
