A Week of Literacy...

We haven't done this for a couple of years now, and we've really been meaning to get back to it. Actually, the virtual bookshelf project itself has been knocking around in committee for a while... but that's a project for another day.

Anyway, we're suggesting Summer reading for you this time.  Books or works we highly support. But, you know it's not likely to be anything from Opra's Book Club because we're a little... different.

So go check them out, and if you don't like them, check out something else on another shelf in your library or bookstore, or Amazon recommends...

Today's suggestion

The Book of Bunny Suicides
    by Andy Riley

OK, so we're cheating a bit on this one to get you in the whole "how to use a book" thing again.  This book has covers, and pages, so you'll get back in the habit of knowing how to open and advance through the book by turning the pages (grasp each one by the upper corner and pull right to left to expose a new page of print.) We know it's been a while for a few of you.

So, Bunny Suicides you say? What could make a bunny want to kill itself? Bunnies are so happy, so joyful... could it be they've become aware of the world around them?  Well, the book has no answers there.  What it has is page after page of inventive ways persistent bunnies have found to shuffle off their mortal coil. Yes, they're full of cartoons, very little reading, the perfect book to start off with as it will even serve those whose English is not so good.

Watch for the call back joke on the "two rabbits juggling chisels during a total eclipse of the sun."  It's kind of like those "final" movie scenes they're sneaking in after the end credits.

If you like BS, then you'll probably want to check out Return of the Bunny Suicides too.

A week of "book" recommendations from evil.com. We're going to recommend seven things to read. Obviously things we like and admire. And maybe, even, something to get you thinking.
Because there's nothing more evil than thinking. Right?

Read the Lies

Read the Shouts

Read the Archives

Read the Static

Read the Financials

we get it.  check back daily.
