Do we live in a third world country?
Was a time when we thought of Vietnam as some third world mud-hut land, ignorant peasant lead by arrogant warlords, leaders too obsessed with conquest to advance the health and well-being of their people... we were SOOOO superior. Well, it's time to rethink.
Vietnam has halted outbreaks of bird flu. How? They're inoculating their poultry. You remember inoculations, that's what advanced countries use to stave off potential disease problems.
Wow, that's sensible. How the hell did we forget that little trick? Oh, yeah, we'd rather find yet another fear vector to live in. It's our national way, makes us so much more... managable.
