Sunday powerless...
Woke up to a power outage today. Ever notice how those automated phone mail systems the power company sets up to "inform you" about power outages ARE NEVER AWARE of your power outage? Funny about that. It takes 5 minutes of pushing buttons to learn they're as much in the dark as you are. And given their product is electronics, you'd think they'd be a little more automatic about the whole thing.
The crappy thing about a power outage is walking around and doing dumb stuff that shows you just how little you think about power.
Need a flashlight? It's in that dark room. Walk in, can't see it - so you flip up the light switch...
Want to call the power company but don't know the number? We'll just look it up on the web...
Nicad battery in your radio dead? Put it in the charger...
Would have been funny if it weren't all true.
