More Love from Tex's Ass

We know we just bashed them yesterday, and we hate to repeat ourselves, but this morning we're reminded that Texas is a boil on the backside of America.  The puss that leaks out into the rest of this country just can't be tolerated.

Case in point; Texas company Clear Channel. This company is full of Bush pals who apparently buy the religious right's indignation over Howard Stern's programming and are systematically disassembling him.  They can do it, they own the show.  They're dancing with the FCC on this, using rather than fighting recent bloated fines against Stern as fuel for his dismissal. Although his show has consistently high ratings, a sure money maker for the company, he doesn't expect to be on the air much longer. And he points the finger (guess which) directly at Bush:

I might be taken off all the stations very soon, and my last words to you are G.W.B. Get him out of office. I'm tellin' you, man, he's in dangerous territory [with] a religious agenda and you gotta vote him out -- anyone but Bush!

Hmm.  A consistently high ratings?  Sure money maker? But offensive to a minority of people they obviously don't want as listeners? Certainly not a sensible business decision. This just smacks of more of the religious right's dominance of this administration and the resulting threats to freedom of speech, separation of church and state, and even freedom of (not having to bow down to any given) religion.

Wake up folks, it's a sick time in America.

Yeah, we're sure there are plenty of nice folks and companies in Texas and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.  Unfortunately they're lost in the shadows of real slime. Want recognition of the good?  Get rid of the bad, and start at home. Enron was just the first, you've got a long long way to go.
