we get it

October 22, 2003

We just heard AOL is increasing their ad spending, doubling it from last year. Dear lord, do we need more noise from the kings of "You've got Spam!"?

Don't people realize that .aol.com at the end of an e-mail address instantly plops it into the not really bright enough to get on the internet by myself bucket. And where are the AOL "I spent $24 a month for dial-up internet access and all I got was busy signals, pesky credit card offers and this inbox full of spam" t-shirts? Don't get us started on their viral proprietary IM and retarded e-mail handling.

Sigh, is it the coffee this morning?  We were trying to make this a calm day.

In exactly 9 days, we're making a subtle change to the evil.com home page. We're having a contest: anyone who can successfully predict what change that would be will get their name published as "too smart for their own good."

Clue #3 - Nothing to do with colors or fonts.

You can send guesses through the standard method.  If you can't figure out the standard method, you're obviously not "too smart for your own good."

Everything you need to figure it out is right on this site. And for clarity's sake, since accurate time is sooooo important, we're talking about a change that will happen sometime on 10/31/2003.

Lots of entries so far, most haven't gone back and reviewed the clues.  However, "jared ulmer" crawls into the ranks of those who've gotten it, joining  "Nick Jones", "Beck Ryan" and "John Stamm".  Congrats Boys - You're officially too smart for your own good.

Is this text too small?  Do these pants make us look fat?
